Thanksgiving Turkey Reservation
We raise our turkeys from day old poults, supplementing them with locally milled non-GMO grains while they forage in the pasture alongside our cattle. Our turkeys never receive any vaccines, antibiotics, hormones, or medications of any kind during their lifetime. All of our poultry are humanely raised and processed right here on our farm in Fluvanna County.
A $25 non-refundable deposit secures your pasture-raised, Broad Breasted White Thanksgiving turkey, with the remaining balance due at pickup ($6.95 per pound minus your $25 deposit).
Medium - 15-18 lb (Feeds 12-14 people)
Large - 19-22 lb (Feeds 16-20 people)
Jumbo - 23+ lb (Feeds at least 22 people)
The wait is finally over and Thanksgiving turkey reservations are now open! All turkeys will be available for pick up at our Farm Store, or delivered to our customers in early November.
If you are a returning customer, there are a few changes this year. Please read below for additional information.

We are raising broad breasted white turkeys instead of broad breasted bronze.
Unfortunately the bronze birds had a bit more black pigment left within the skin than we liked. This did not affect taste in any way, but it was disheartening to hand over a turkey with black splotches all over it, and feeling the need to explain that it was still safe to eat. We definitely prefer the beautiful bronze birds in the field, but on processing day & in the freezer, white turkeys reign supreme.
We will not be offering fresh (never frozen) turkeys.
Here me out on this one... We understand that this will likely disappoint some folks, and we are truly sorry for any inconvenience. The truth is, the logistics surrounding providing fresh turkeys within a very strict time frame is extremely difficult, and downright stressful. Here are a few reasons why we’ve decided to only provide frozen birds this year.
The best feedback we received from buyers of our Thanksgiving turkeys were actually from folks that had purchased frozen birds! We pride ourselves in producing the very best thanksgiving turkey for your family, and truly believe that “freshly frozen” is just as amazing.
Our pasture is dormant the entire month of November. This means for the last month of their lives, there is little to no bug activity, and no fresh, young, tender grasses for them to forage on.
Last year we had one customer that was very upset that their total was $20 more than they were originally quoted when they first placed their reservation. They were the last person to reserve a bird, just before Thanksgiving, and we were doing what we could to be fair and go down our list and honor the wishes of the folks who reserved their birds much earlier to match them with their desired size. Unfortunately when dealing with fresh birds, there’s no way to halt their growth if they reach the desired weight 2-3 weeks before Thanksgiving.
Processing the week before Thanksgiving is COLD. Wet hands for 9+ hours in the freezing cold is no fun. Most of our help include family members and volunteers, and I prefer to keep them happy and willing to continue helping so we can continue growing these delicious birds for years to come! :)
What you need to know about reserving a Thanksgiving turkey with us…
If you need to feed a very large crowd (more than 20 people) we suggest considering purchasing two Large turkeys versus one huge turkey, as they’re easier to season, cook, and you don’t have to worry about them not fitting in your pan! :)
A small baggie containing your turkey’s neck, heart, and liver will be inside the cavity. Please do not forget to remove this prior to cooking your bird!
Any reserved Turkeys that have not been picked up or delivered by end of day on 11/13 will be considered forfeited and will be made available for purchase by folks that have been waitlisted. If you need to pick up your turkey outside of the window(s) provided, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate.
